Hugh Everette Browder
Hugh Everette Browder, 75, of North Wilkesboro, NC, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
A native of Weldon, he was the son of the late Doniphan Saunders and Katie Pilley Browder. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thad Browder.
Hugh grew up in Weldon and was a graduate of East Carolina University where he was a math and physics major. He worked with Champion International Paper Company in Roanoke Rapids and retired as Plant Manager at ABTCO in Roaring River, NC. Hugh was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, but most of all he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Thompson Browder; his daughter, Kathryn Browder Arasi and her husband, Richard, of Milton, Georgia; his son, Michael Hugh Browder and his wife, Cherie, of Wilkesboro, NC; five granddaughters, Victoria A. Hauff and her husband, Mitchell, Jenny Arasi, Allie Arasi, Laney Browder and Krissey Browder; his brother, Donnie Browder, Jr., of Weldon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon.
The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral & Cremation Service on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
